Special Children with a Special Purpose

Long ago, a clever demon realized that in the situation and under the right circumstances, humans could be invested with the tiniest trickle of demonic power. Not quite enough to turn them into demons in their own right, but by having the humans drink demon blood, psychic gifts could be unlocked or woken. This was important because rumors said only a specific and special child would be able to open the locks on Lucifer's prison and release the Lightbringer.

That clever demon began its work millennia ago, sowing the seeds of psychic powers in some children, and waiting for the right bloodlines to intermingle and produce what was needful. Within the last fifty years, these demon-blooded psychics have begun to appear in larger numbers. Some are determined to use their powers for good, others for selfish or evil purposes. Meanwhile, the clever demon waits. He waits for the inevitable clash between his many 'children' to see who among them will triumph. It's his belief that once the conflict begins, the demon-blooded will fight until there is only one left, and that One will be the one capable of unlocking Lucifer's prison.

The State of Demon-Blooded Psychics

Demon-blooded psychics are even rarer than regular psychics, but there remain enough of them that it may yet be a while before the clever demon gets to find his singular special child. The first echoes of a long drawn out conflict are beginning to sound more loudly as the demon-blooded fight amongst themselves, evil straining against good and vice versa. While conflict is not mandated, there's only so much fear and terror that the good aligned demon-bloods are willing to accept as they struggle with their unique abilities.

Demon-blooded psychics have unique powers that other psychics do not, which are brought about by the demon blood in their veins. These powers give them the means and ability to summon, control, and/or exorcise demons. Most of these 'extra' talents come at a price however, as in order to maintain them, the demon-blood must consume more and more demonic blood in order to fuel his powers. Demon blood can be addictive to these psychics and often becomes a driving obsession, not only for the additional strength the blood gives, but also because of the feeling of strength and conviction that flows along with the blood.

Drinking Demon Blood

Demon-blooded psychics have the unique ability to ingest demon blood and use its essence to strengthen their powers and abilities. It is suggested by the demon responsible for creating the demon-blooded psychics, that if one of them drunk enough demon blood they could serve as a suitable vessel for Lucifer himself, not to mention other demons.

When a demon-blooded psychic drinks demon blood, they get a rush or a 'high', in addition to an upswing of psychic power that makes their talents stronger, more damaging, and harder to resist. Like all drugs however, the amount of demon blood that can be taken in safely changes. The more a psychic drinks, the more they can hold next time they drink, building up a resistance to its intoxicating quality as well as increasing how much they can hold at a time.

Please note that while the psychic does drink the blood, most of the blood is converted into energy rather than being digested as normal.

Demon-Blooded Psychic Powers

Demon-Blooded Psychics gain the following powers:

• Demon Kin - Powers, abilities, or magic which targets or affects demons can also affect the demon-blooded psychic as if the psychic were a demon.
• Demonic Infusion - The demon-blooded psychic can ingest demon blood without harmful side effects. Doing so increases the strength of the psychic’s powers, as well as bestowing a sense of confidence, control, and strength. This feeling however can be addictive and demon blood itself is an addictive substance.
• Infernal Immunity – Demon-blood psychics are immune to almost all of the powers a demon can bring to bear against the psychic, provided they've ingested demonic blood in the last 12 hours. Demon-blooded psychics are nearly immune to the demonic abilities of other demonic-blooded psychics. Only the Princes of Hell can affect Demon-Blooded psychics with their abilities.

Demon-Blooded Psychics have access to regular psychic powers, and can also access these unique powers and abilities:

• Command Demons – Demon-blooded psychics can summon and control demons without the need of ritual or magic. When the psychic summons a demon, it appears before the psychic, teleported if the demon is in a host or in its black smoke form if it does not have a host.
  • Passive Power: Demon Link – Demon-blooded psychics can sense when a demon enters their presence, and can see the true faces of demons even when they are possessing someone. Much like a vampire with its servant, the psychic can mentally link to the demon and command it.
• Exorcise Demons - The psychic has the power to drive demons from their hosts and banish them back to Hell without the need for rituals or rites. The stronger the psychic gift is, the quicker they can exorcise a demon. Some demons are resistant to or even immune to being exorcised. This power explicitly ignores this resistance or immunity for any demon that is not a Prince of Hell.
  • Passive Power: Sense Demons – Demon-blooded psychics can sense when a demon enters their presence, and can see the true faces of demons even when they are possessing someone. Additionally, the psychic can sense the demon's rank and chosen sinbrood.
• Smite Demons - The psychic has the power to kill demons without the need of magic, angel blades, relics, or special objects. When a psychic uses this power, its eyes turn black.
  • Passive Power: Burning Touch - The touch of the psychic with this power inflicts searing pain on demons and demonic entities.
• Titanic Strength - The psychic has incredible physical strength, surpassing that of demons and rivaling angels for sheer physical strength.
  • Passive Power: Enhanced Health- Demon-blooded psychics with this power enjoy an increased vitality, their immune systems and bodies function at the peak of human efficiency.
• Perfect Vessel/Host - Some demon-blooded psychics have their bodies and souls conditioned by the power in their blood. This makes them perfect vessels and hosts for demons. When a demon possesses someone that is a Perfect Vessel, the demon can access the psychic's powers and abilities.
  • Passive Power: Vessel Locked - The psychic cannot be possessed by demons without giving his consent to the demon and cannot be possessed by other angels, psychics, magic, ghosts, or any other power.
