Vampire Servants

Those that serve the undead

All vampires have potent minds which allow them to mesmerize or hypnotize mentally weaker beings, including other vampires. Some vampires, however, have acquired abilities which allow them to dominate a person so completely that the person loses touch with themselves or becomes conditioned to serving the vampire. Other Vampires have turned their mental prowess to different techniques, recognizing that eternity is a very long time, as well as the need for individuals to help guard the slumbering vampire or to attend to the vampire’s wishes during the daylight. A vampire who claims a Servant, human or otherwise, essentially welds its own soul onto the living soul of another being. This link grants each stronger powers and abilities, sustenance, energy, power, a mental connection that strengthens with each mark, and most importantly, control. While any marked servant becomes immune to the rolling powers of the vampire that marked them, they are, to one degree or another, slaves to their vampire Master's will. Other vampires find it difficult to roll the servant of another vampire.

Brides

Bride, regardless of the person's gender, refers to an individual who is completely enthralled by a vampire and must obey any command given until it is explicitly countered by the vampire. Extremely devoted, they can feel their Master's mood and are compelled to do anything they can to make their Master happy.

Brides are intended to be disposable resources, and will willingly allow the vampire to draw energy from them to the point of death. When a vampire is gravely injured or starving, this transfer is automatic and is likely to result in the Bride's death if the vampire cannot recover its senses in time to control the process.

Human Servants

Master vampires with the ability can create a human servant through the application of four distinct marks. This magical process increasingly binds the human and vampire's essences together, with the last mark resulting in the human's immortality.

Mundane human beings (without psychic gifts or magical inclinations) must obey the letter and spirit of their vampire Master's commands. The chains that bind them may empower them and give them strength, but they are nonetheless chains of servitude. Humans with psychic gifts or magical talents are less constrained, but must still obey their Master's express command. Necromancers however, can ignore their vampires as much as they please, knowing full well that there is little the vampire can do to them.

Animal to Call & Animal Servants

Some vampires have one or more animals to call, which allows them to summon and command animals or lycanthropes of that species. Some lycanthropes and shifters are powerful enough to resist this call, and some vampires are strong enough to call groups of their particular animal to call. Animals to call are meant to be a vampire's eyes and ears among the general human population, and an extension of the vampire master's will, especially during daylight hours.

A vampire with the ability to call animals may also form a vampire-servant relationship with one animal or lycanthrope subject to the vampire's call as it does with a human.

Refer to the Characteristics & Consequences of Servant Marks.

Triumvirate

A vampire with the Forge Triumvirate ability who has both a human servant and an animal servant, can bind the three into a relationship called a triumvirate. A triumvirate creates an extended awareness of the others within the group, allows telepathic communications, and magnifies their shared abilities. The collective energies can be used to sustain the energy or life-force of a member until other sources are available.
