Common Lines of Descent

The origin of vampires has been attributed to many different possible sources, with many conflicting theories and few that know the truth of the situation. Regardless, at some point in the far distant past, the common progenitor of vampire kind had talented children whose powers and abilities were born from its own, and there diverged outwards. These mythological founders were once believed to be the Soudre d'Sangs which comprised the Vampire Council, but doubts as to the veracity of their claims to be the 'fountainheads' of the bloodlines is dubious. Nonetheless, there are at least 8 bloodlines that exist in the modern nights.
Belle Morte
Mythos: Lust, Sexuality, Inspiration, Love
Belle Morte are the truth behind the myth of vampires who are portrayed as mysterious, sensual, sexual, and alluring creatures of the night. They feed off of lusts, inspire feelings of intense desire, and even the most mundane-looking Belle Morte exudes an aura of beauty, inspiring people to want to be part of their social circle and please them.
The Dragon
Mythos: Rage, Violence, Conflict, Combat
One of the oldest bloodlines, Dragons feed off anger and violence, possessing the ability to cause harm from afar and use the vitae they consume to rapidly heal their wounds. They are frequently found in locations and periods of history where wars raged and armies clashed, although they are capable of inspiring individuals to great acts of seething violence.
Moroven
Mythos: Fear, Darkness, Dreams
For a Moroven, nothing is sweeter than the taste of fear and abject terror. They enjoy tormenting their victims, using their own phobias and nightmares against them, heightening their sense of dread by letting their victim's imagination conjure the worst torments. They whisper paranoias, twist reality, and make once-safe places seem dark and foreboding.
Traveler
Mythos: Telepathy, Mind Control, Psychic Powers
Travelers are connected to aspects of the spirit and mind. They can project themselves into other bodies, create illusions, as well as insert or remove information directly from their targets. Their prowess with mental powers are so developed that they maintain a constant low-level telepathic awareness and can manipulate these energies to inflict pain and/or short-circuit brainwaves.
Octavian
Mythos: Combat, Command, Flesh Mastery, Purity of Spirit
Like a Knight of Camelot or Knights Templar, Octavians are masters of combat, weapons, strategy, and intent, having aligned their mind, body, and soul into a fine-tuned machine. Although their goals may differ from the chivalrous men of the past, whatever cause they deem worthy to undertake, it is with intense focus and steadfast determination, using a variety of offense and defensive skills.
Morte D'Amour
Mythos: Decay, Illness, Death
The Morte D'Amour bloodline embraces the aspect of death to the point of rotting their own flesh away in order to avoid death, making them difficult to kill. Characterized by feasting on death, spreading decay and illness, their touch is akin to the plague in the way it steals vigor and saps life from the things around them. Vampires of this line can raise undead armies, using the recently expired to fuel their energies and carry out their ambitions.
Earthmover
Mythos: Telekenesis, Earth Control
Many sources of vampiric lore includes the vampire's need to have dirt from their grave or homelands in order to rest and recover. Perhaps these stories stem from the Earthmover line who have an affinity for this element. They can manipulate the ground to create barriers, destructive upheavals, and shockwaves. Additionally, they can draw power from the earth to fortify and strengthen their bodies, and renew their own energies.
Master of Beasts
Mythos: Dominion over Animals, Lycanthropes, and Shapechanging
Embracing their animalistic nature, this bloodline demonstrates authority over the animal kingdom. They can summon beasts to them, issue commands, and control what the animals do or behave. Masters can snare the bestial nature of lycanthropes and shifters too; some even possess the ability to transform themselves into other creatures.
