Isidore D'Aiglemort

“The world never stops changing – this is a basic truth I have learned over my long life. But it is joined by another truth which I have learned – people do not change much. It was true five hundred years ago when I ruled a small country you’ve never heard of in Europe, and it remains true now in this modern world so full of glitz, glamour, and on-demand everything. People are still the same – they want the freedom to be comfortable, they want the luxury of their conveniences, they want to be entertained, distracted. They may not admit it, but they want to be guided.
A long time ago, I was a King. I was born to be King, first born son of a King. I had the heritage of the royal house stamped into my features: the silver hair and the indigo eyes, the height, flawless cheekbones, the aristocratic fingers. But when I lost my country, I let go my crown, buried the heirlooms of my house, and turned my back against that title, that domain, and its attendant responsibilities. It would be a lie to say that I do not miss it, but then there is much that I miss about my living days. It would also be a lie to say that I wanted the power or the weight back to my hand. It is said that all who acquire power are afraid to lose it, and that is true for some people I think, but there is always power to be had, if one stoops to pick it up. Power is a trap, a sublime, seductive trap, but a trap nonetheless. And it is for that reason, that I have declined the opportunity to seize more power for myself. I have power enough that the kings of old would envy, might sell their souls for.
When the ‘Doctor’ reached out to me to take over this city, I accepted, intrigued by the thought that this individual I knew not had the means to reach out to me. After I arrived I looked at what had befallen the city, and I recognized that the city owed its difficulties in part due to the interference of the vampires in the affairs of the other supernatural factions in the city. For that reason, I abstained from any formal dealings, instead I said that we, the vampires, should mind our own affairs and leave the others to sort out their own dealings. I noted that the Denver metroplex was rather large, indeed, it was larger and remains larger than many of the old world dominions ruled by Master’s, so I borrowed several concepts from feudal society and divided the metroplex into smaller areas I called baronies, and appointed Barons to oversee these territories. These barons wield the same power as a Master of the City over their respective domains, and indeed these baronies represent the major city divides that compromise the Denver metroplex. I took the oaths of these barons and then set them to organize their domains as they see fit.
I did not ask for this power, and I find it troubles me to once again move openly, to wear the crown and carry the scepter. When I find someone worthy, I intend on stepping aside. I will take a Barony perhaps as recompense for my time and efforts, but even that is not a requirement."
History
The Kingdom that Isidore once ruled has been destroyed, appearing no where in the histories of the monarchs of Europe, in part by Papal decree, and in part by simple expediency of the Monarch's that invaded and absorbed his lands. Despite this, in secret locations Isidore maintains the treasures of his house, including the crown he once wore. He was the oldest son, Crown Prince, prior to his ascending to the throne. Back then he was a very different person. Isidore's father, the King, was a sadistic, an abusive bastard who ruled with an iron hand and a savage fist. Isidore grew up cold, his every action controlled by an iron will - it was the only defense he had against his Father, and even that control was not always enough to keep his father at bay. But that control was nearly unbreakable, flawless. Isidore was icy and subdued, but deep in his chest burned a savagery that could lay waste to the world in its scorching hatred. That burning core found it's first outlets in the bedroom, with a willing victim who demanded he 'show her' everything he was, cruel and sadistic, kind and generous, icily precise and meticulous.
That willing victim was the woman he eventually married after the Kingdom fell, the woman he brought with him into undeath after the demon Aelianus changed him into a vampire. Since those early nights, Isidore has managed to shake off most of the shackles of his upbringing and has been able to accept and integrate what happened to him, and to let some of those burdens go. He is more merry than he was when he was alive, more inclined to letting loose the savagery of his heart and wallowing in bloodlust and violence, but the habits of a lifetime are seldom discarded completely and he reserves exposing the truth and the fullness of who and what he is to a select audience.

In public, Isidore remains cool and collected, nearly impossible to disturb, irritate, or fluster. Indeed, that very icy precision that he cultivated as a defense has not lost any of its strength after centuries of being tucked away, the mask of resolute calm and control is still unbending, unyielding to any other will but his own.
Present Situation
After having set the city in order, Isidore now sits at the center of a massive web of potential power. Not only in a personal sense, but also because he represents the Cauldron of Storms, albeit not openly, Isidore has the chance to do more than simply influence things. If he chooses to remain the Master of the City and can bring the rest of the city securely under his thumb, the Cauldron will have a centrally located base of operations from which it can move throughout the world with greater impunity. Denver represents a great deal of opportunity for the Cauldron, though whether or not Isidore will retain the power he has grasped remains to be seen.
For the time being, Denver seems to have stabilized under his guidance and with the increase of peace, he takes a distant approach, monitoring things but allowing his 'subjects' the freedom to do as they see fit. He has named his wife, Mercy D'Aiglemort his Temoin, though the bloodthirsty woman is more akin to his enforcer in the public eye. In private he listens to her counsel, and makes decisions based on what she uncovers.
Avatars
Isidore's changing appearence relies on a magic item which was crafted for him by his friend Eris and his servant Iskandar. The item allows him to change his features, maksing his natural hair and eye color, adjusting his facial structure in minute ways such that his whole appearence is different. But, this item does not allow him to change his height or weight.
