Mercy D'Aiglemort

Mercy D'Aiglemort

Before Eternity

Oldest of 3 girls born to House Avery, Rael Avery was the light of her father's world. Not only because she was his first born, but because it was clear she'd grow up to be a beauty. A beautiful daughter is easier to wed, to secure good political alliances, or access to more lofty ranks. She'd help bring her house up, climbing the social ladder towards greatness.

Trained in all the arts that were required of a young women in Barbarus, Rael spoke several languages, could serve with grace, rode a horse like she was born to it. Every grace that a young noblewoman should have, she had. When Rael reached her flowering, and became fit for wedding and bedding, her father began to look for suitable matches. But, her father was suffering from a disease that rotted his brain, and he'd made some bad choices in regards to his King.

Her father's choices culminated in two things that would alter Rael's world forever. In the first, he offered his daughter to wed the Crown Prince, Isidore. This offer of marriage was refused, but the marriage contract was signed and locked away, and the King sent his eldest son to kill the Avery family for treason and conspiracy. Rael was not home when Isidore began his brutal business. She came home from the market, saw her family slain and their home burning, and saw their killer before she turned and ran. Eventually she was taken in by a friend of her father's and become Merielle Corwin, humble accountant.

As Merielle Corwin, Rael learned how to entertain, suspending herself above the ground with silk ropes. She also learned all she could about the arts of death, sword play and knives, and became Mercy the Merciless. By the time she was ready, she was one of the leaders of the thieves guild in the city. She worked her way close to the Royal family, in order to strike at the man that had killed her family and tormented her dreams: Isidore. When she thought to strike, she found a man that had been broken like she had been, a man that bore the marks of his crimes in flesh and soul. She found remorse, and sorrow, and a desire to die.

She found herself incapable of killing Isidore. Or rather, she could, but the need for it had withered a bit on seeing, on hearing what had happened to him to force him to that action. In time, she began to share his bed, despite his marriage, becoming the King's maƮtresse-en-titre. She continued to run her thieves' guild, and saved the King's life when he was attacked by assassins.

Into Eternity

When Barbarus fell, Mercy went with Isidore, helped him oversee the evacuation of the capital. She had never believed in fairytales, but since the fall of her homeland, she has learned otherwise. Her Prince, turned King, turned no one, married her. Married her and took her away to different places where they could be free of their past. Then he brought her into undeath, giving them eternity together.

Current Situtation

A change of plans leads to a change of scenery. From one urban center to another, from the midwest to the heart of the Rocky Mountains. All because Isidore D'Aiglemort has been chosen to lead, a station that she views with mixed feelings. He is well suited to ruling, yet his dedication and tendency to revert to the controlled, unemotional stiff when he's responsible for others, stirs feelings of ancient rage. Mercy is torn between supporting her husband and shredding his insufferable arrogance into pulp.

How events will unfold is yet to be seen, but for now, Denver serves as home for Mercy, Isidore, and their assorted collection of servants and extended Cauldron acquaintenances.

Isidore
Mercy was sired by and is oathed to Isidore. Through that linkage, and given her skillset, it is only natural for Mercy to take part in the Cauldron of Storm's activities as both instructor and assassin. Historically, Mercy has been involved in the criminal underground. She continues to dabble in that realm, but whether or not she takes an a ctive role in it again remains to be seen and will depend on a number of factors. Star crossed lovers, these two have connections to Isidore. Eris being one of his only friends, and Phoenix her husband. They accepted Eternity together through Mercy to keep close to Isidore. Their down to earth natures also help Mercy stay anchored.
Isidore D'Aiglemort
Husband. Lover. Sire. The man that was once an object of hatred and rage has become something else over time. Isidore carries Mercy's blood oath, and her heart. Without him, and her servants, she would devolve mentally to a feral animal that would be the stuff of nightmares.

While not as volatile as she used to be Mercy is still a little cauldron of angry potential. Do not get on her bad side. She likes collecting eyeballs.
