Common Powers

  • Beast Trainer - The lycanthrope with this power is able to train animals to a considerable extent. Animals trained by lycanthropes with this power become slightly more intelligent, encompassing the upper limits of animal intelligence.
    • Animals trained by a lycanthrope with this power are capable of learning multiple types of commands that fulfill a variety of functions even if they are not a species that can usually be tamed by humanity.
  • Camouflage - The lycanthrope is able to mask his visible presence, not turning invisible but rather blending in to the background of whatever surrounds him.
    • This ability can be used in any form. While using this power the lycan continues to leave a scent trail and can be heard, he is just significantly harder to spot visibly.
  • Command Kin - The lycanthrope is able to command and control a natural animal of its lycanthropic species. In most cases this is limited to a single animal, but those lycanthropes who are rats or serpents can command up to 5 such animals
  • Enforcer/Bodyguard - The lycanthrope has an instinctive know-how when it comes to leg breaking or physically correcting problems and carrying out its objectives.
    • The lycanthrope also gains an instinctive ability to put himself between harm and someone he is trying to protect, stepping into the path of a bullet or a punch, taking the injury for another.
  • Fast Shift to Animal Form - The lycanthrope is able to shift into animal form significantly faster than normal, burning off a little more energy to make the transition more rapid.
    • Typically the change takes five minutes or so to complete, but a lycanthrope with this power is able to change in just under two minutes.
  • Fast Shift to Human Form - The lycanthrope is able to shift into its human form with considerable speed, burning off a little more energy to make the transition more rapid.

  • Mask Scent - The lycanthrope is able to suppress its scent, making it unsmellable and significantly harder to track by sense of smell alone.
  • Resist Coma - The lycanthrope gains the ability to resist or hold off a shift coma. This may be necessary in order to find a safe place, or because of dangerous circumstances, but in any event the lycanthrope does not suffer a shift coma immediately after returning to its human form.
  • Tracker/Hunter - A lycanthrope with this power has his senses sharpened above that of other lycanthropes when it comes to tracking quarry or hunting. Normal lycanthropes can track by scent easily enough, but a lycanthrope with this ability can track diluted, polluted, or old scents which should be faded away.
    • In addition, the lycanthrope with this power is exceptionally good at stalking, making no sound when it moves.

Rank Powers

  • Control Change in Others - The Alpha lycanthrope with this power is capable of controlling how and where another lycan of its species changes shape. This can be used to 'pull' another lycan into a different shape, essentially forcing the target to transform.
    • It can also be used to delay, or slow a shapeshift, drawing out the length of the time it takes to change forms.
    • This ability can also be used to stop a change that isn't forced by the moon.
  • Roll Over - Alphas sometimes have no choice but to impose their will onto a subordinate member of a group.
    • With this power, the Alpha lycanthrope gives an order to a lycanthrope of lesser rank, of its same species, and the target must obey that order to the best of its ability.
  • Command Kin III - The lycanthrope with this power becomes capable of using its power to command up to ten of the animals of its kind.
    • Lycanthropes with smaller forms, such as rats and serpents, can control 25 of their smaller kin.
  • Mindblock - The Alpha lycanthrope is able to shrug off the emotionally manipulative powers of vampires, and the bulk of their mental powers, able to meet the eyes of most vampires without fear of being rolled by them.
    • Very powerful vampires may be an exception to this resistance.
  • Transfer Silver - The Alpha can heal other members of its kind/pack by transferring the target's wounds to himself. Unlike the Beta ability, the Alpha can transfer injuries caused by silver or fire.
  • Thrash - Betas are often the sergeants to the various alpha within their pack, and it falls to them to keep the rest of the group in line.
    • The lycanthrope with this power is able to extend a lash or whip of spiritual energy and use this energy on its fellow lycanthropes, whipping their beasts into line and encouraging obedience and submission.
  • Find Threat - The Beta lycanthrope is able to sense individuals which could threaten itself or its group.
    • Note, that this power does not differentiate between an active threat or a passive threat. A vampire that can call the lycanthropes beast type will register as a threat regardless of whether or not the vampire is using that power or intends to use it.
  • Ward the Animal - Betas are often thewatc hdogs of their groups, tasked with keeping an eye on both the Omegas beneath them and the Alphas above.
    • Betas with this power are able to undermine a vampire's ability to call an animal, requiring the vampire to put more power into the call before it becomes effective.

Rare Powers

  • Battery - The lycanthrope has an extra store of energy which they can use to change their shapes more often, or as a desperate last push of effort in dire circumstances.
  • Claim Turf - The lycanthrope can claim an area as its 'turf' or its domain and marks his territory with scratches and scents. While these marks are physical, there are metaphysical signs that go with it.
    • Lycanthropes, Shifters, and Skinwalkers know automatically when they enter the area claimed by this power, something in their bestial natures recognizing the claim of territory.
    • Multiple lycanthropes with this ability can work together in order to claim more ground as their turf. Working by himself a lycan can claim about a square mile worth of territory.
    • While within its turf, the lycanthrope benefits from a sort of psychic claim over it. People assume he belongs there and don't pay much attention to the lycanthrope unless the lycanthrope draws attention to itself. If the lycanthrope does draw attention to itself, people tend to react as if the lycanthrope was a figure worthy of great respect, fear, or adoration.
  • Ignore the Summons - The lycanthrope with this power is completely able to ignore and resist the summons and commands of a vampire that can call its type.
  • Turn Silver - The lycanthrope is able to resist the effects of silver to a certain degree, working through the pain that the metal causes. This does not change how much damage is done to the lycan but improves the lycan's ability to cope with the damage and heal from it.
  • Metamorph - Lycanthropes with this power are considered to be very powerful, regardless of their actual degree of spiritual and supernatural strength.
    • Lycanthropes with this talent have superb control over their shapeshifting abilities and operate as if they have the Partial Shift, Hybrid Form, and Evershifting Form powers.
      • Partial Shift - The Beta is able partially shift his body, whether for cosmetic effects (such as eyes) , or for utility such as replacing the animal's voice box with a human one or vice versa.
      • Hybrid Form - The Alpha lycanthrope can assume a hybrid shape, combining the elements of their human and beast forms.
        • This hybrid form has the full strength and resilience of the animal form, along with the manual dexterity of the hands and opposable thumbs. Regardless of the animal type, a lycanthrope in hybrid form will have two arms, and hands tipped with wicked rending claws. Most lycanthropes will have two legs with the exception of snake lycanthropes which have a long tail. A lycanthrope in hybrid shape can speak comprehensibly but is limited to brief statements.
        • In hybrid shape the lycan gains twice their own body weight and 3-5 feet in height.
      • Evershifting Form - The Alpha lycanthrope is able to change forms far more often, completely disregarding the shift coma until its third full shift, at which point it suffers the need to sleep just like any other lycan would.

Breed Powers

  • Elemental Gift (Black Tiger - Water) - The tiger gains the ability to exert control over its element, capable of manifesting and manipulating its element.
    • What can be done with this elemental affinity depends on the rank/status of the tiger. Omegas are capable of manifesting their element while Alphas able to manipulate and control their elements with extreme power. Tigers can only select one element to manipulate and even cross-bred tigers may only select one of their elements.
  • Strength of Will - The tiger with this power is able to bolster the flagging spirits of its comrades and clan. While this power is active, every weretiger surrounding the lycanthrope enjoys an increased sense of certainty and their will grows stronger.
  • Call the Prey - By chittering slightly, a tiger may, with this Gift, make her prey come to her. So long as she stands still and chants, the victim will wander slightly dazed until he’s close enough to grab. Once the cat moves, the trance is broken.
    • Naturally, this power can be used for all kinds of hunting. This only works against victims who were unaware of the tiger's presence beforehand — as far as they know, they want to wander over that way. Once the prey is close, the werecat can move in however she prefers; a leap, a distraction, or an opening line all work equally well once the target’s in place.
  • Hateful Stare - With a glare the tiger is able to cause injuries to open up in a target, inflicting injury with a look. How widespread or intense these injuries become depend on how long the tiger glares at its target, the tiger's individual power, and the power of the target

Rare Breed Powers

  • Perfect Passage - Each of the big cats is a perfect predator, adapted to hunting, stalking, and taking prey.
    • This power lasts for a single scene, and while active the big cat becomes the ultimate predator.
    • This power eliminates all sounds and scents made by the cat, eliminating fingerprints, footprints, and other physical traces such as hair and fibers. In addition, this power opens and shuts doors, springs simple (unmagical) locks, and shuts down security systems long enough for the cat to enter or exit a location. While this power does not render a cat invisible, it does make the cat significantly harder to see and when seen it is hard to recognize and impossible to identify later.
  • Thunder Strike - The tiger invoking this power slams its paws together and creates a shockwave which damages buildings and which harms spirits of all types. This shockwave is capable of shattering glass, fracturing wood, and bending metal with enough power invested in it. The damage caused to spirits increases as well
  • Gift of the Sun - The tiger is able to make itself or objects around it glow with the light of the sun. This light begins gradually, much like a dawn in the morning, but gradually increasing until the tiger or objects around the tiger are glowing with true sunlight. This light is more than enough to burn vampires into dust.
    • The tiger must concentrate on bringing the light forth or the light will fade, but once the illumination reaches a level equal to solar noon, the tiger can stop concentrating and the power will fade like the sun does at sunset.
  • Jade Token - The tiger is able to concentrate on a piece of jade, and imbue that jade with its essential energy or lifeforce. This lets the tiger create a battery of metaphysical energy that it can use later or when its own reserves are depleted.
    • Jade tokens are considered extremely valuable as any tiger can use the jade to bolster its own power.

Servant Granted Power

  • Telekinesis - Telekinesis is the ability to move or otherwise exert force on objects or people from a distance and without physical contact. The ability is often used with gestures or other forms of bodily movements. However, it is also used with some form of mental effort, as well as with strong emotion.
