Bohdisatvva

With a name like 'Bodhisatvva', certain things are expected of you, you know. For one thing I have to be ten times as wise as any fortune cookie and able to spout off zen koans and esoteric ramblings at the drop of a hat. It's almost a carciature in some ways of the old kung-fu masters you see in some of the early kung-fu movies, you know? And no, I was not born with the name Bohdisatvva. It was name I was given by someone I met a long time ago in a country on the other side of the planet. The person who gave it to me was a friend, and was later executed. He said I had rare wisdom and named me a Bohdisatvva of the Way, which is ridiculous. I am not a Taoist, then or now. But he insisted on the title, and I fianlly accepted it. You can call me Bohdi though, I'd actually prefer if you did. It sounds a little less pretentious.

Fact is, my friend was killed, and after that I couldn't just put the name aside and go abck to something I'd used previously, or create something new. Do you have any idea how long it takes to actually feel like a name belongs to you?

So whatdo you do with eternity before you and a whole wide world to explore? Simple! You do everything. I've been a pirate and a mercenary, an assassin and an instructor. I've learned how to handle boats of all sizes, land vehicles of all sizes. I've traveled the world to hunt rare and exotic beasts and explored the lightless depths of the ocean. I've dived on shipwrecks too deep for tourists, snowboarded on mountains that no man has climbed. I've surfed Bells and Maui, Victoria Bay and NorCal. I've surfed on swells that would've killed any normal person, and ridden waves that sink ships.

Gods but I love this planet. So much to do. Now it's time to hit up the Mile High city and see what it can offer and who might be interested in a little humble sport I call Murder-Ball.

The Past

Bodhisatvva, as the vampire is known, has spent considerable time in the Orient, and the Pacific Ocean, roaming the world wherever he pleases and hunting the beasts of the world to add their prowess and forms to his growing collection. Unlike most vampires, Bodhi does not have an agenda beyond meddling in the affairs of others, mostly out of mischief rather than genuine dislike, and in observing how humanity and the natural world are evolving.

Just how old Bodhi is remains unclear as he refuses to answer questions about his age, or his hobbies. He has demonstrated on several occasions the tactical acumen one might expect from a commander of soldiers, as well as the physical prowess of a trained, if savage, fighter. He’s let slip references about Napoleans conquest of Europe and the isle of Elba, as well as the names of various monarchs from Europe. He has expressed a deep appreciation of the Maori culture in particular and is fond of the Pacific isles as a general rule. He has demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the traditional medicines of the Orient and refers fairly frequently to ‘the movement of Chi and the movement of nature.’

The Present

If Bodhi was a living man instead of a vampire, others might call him an adrenaline junkie. Every dangerous past time that humanity engages in from skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, caving, deep sea fishing, Bodhi is compelled to engage in these activities, master them for his own amusement and then carry on. His love of all things dangerous has given rise to his most recent creation: Murderball.

Murderball is essentially a mixture between American football and hockey, and instead of being played by human beings, is played by greater supernatural beings like lycanthropes and vampires. Because of the sheer strength of the competitors, there is no protective equipment issued, and so players compete only in simple uniforms. Murderball is a very bloody sport with few rules and a lot of bone-crunching action, and with these two strong selling points Bodhi anticipates success both fiscally and in terms of popularity.

Bodhi is traveling around trying to get enough cities interested in the game, and in order to find financial backing so that Bodhi can create the American Murderball League and bring his game into the light.
