One of many siblings, Zelda was the odd one out in her family, being the only one 'marked by the Devil' In truth, she is part of a cursed bloodline, but so distant and diluted is it in her side of the family that the curse and corresponding gifts rarely manifest. Zelda wasn't bad, she just didn't understand her abilities or know what to do with them. In an effort to save her from her demons, her parents sent her to a Catholic boarding school where she found a normal life, made friends, and met her future husband.
When her high school sweetheart proposed, no one was surprised. As they prepared for a life together, Zelda made a few discoveries that shattered her world. It wasn't just that he expected her to take on the traditional roles of mother and homemaker. It wasn't just that he and his father were involved in embezzling from poor folk who trusted them. It wasn't just the realization that her perfect man was flawed. It wasn't just any one thing, but all of it was enough for her to break their engagement and find a new life on her own.
Except, starting over with nothing is hard. After a particularly bad day at whatever shitty job she was working at the time, she met a man having a bad day of his own who took it out on her. It was the first time that Zelda used her abilities to swindle a rich asshole out of money, but the satisfaction and financial reward was addicting. Over the years, she's become a known resource for law enforcement, ghost hunting crews, paranormal researchers, and similar ilk that she can maintain a job as a consultant. While they pay the bills and give her freedom, they don't elicit the same rush she gets from scamming the rich to aid the poor.
With the summons of distant cousins, Zelda is called to Denver to help deal with the family curse. Knowing that they've not been able to break the curse on their own, Zelda asked Link Turnbull, a long time friend, former schoolmate, and talented necromancer to help.

Powers & Abilities
Innate Abilities
- Cognition - Psychics are able to enhance their minds, granting themselves increased intelligence, improved memory capacity, problem solving skills, and logical reasoning. This power lasts for a scene after which the psychic is drained of energy and must rest in order to replenish its mind and give its body a chance to recover.
- Crystal Capacitors - Psychics derive all of their power from their ownminds, but the psychic energy generated by the mind can be stored in certain crystals such as quartz or precious stones. The psychic can then use these crystals as energy reserves or emergency power. Crystals will gradually discharge their stored power and will need to be recharged periodically.
- Force of Will - Psychics have incredibly strong minds, capable of resisting external influences and successfully recognizing when someone is attempting to manipulate or affect their minds.
- Psychic Backlash - When the psychic becomes aware of someone or something trying to influence its mind, it can lash out at the source of that interference, stunning whoever had the temerity to try and middle with the psychic's mind. This power works on vampires, demons, and other psychics.
- Physical Genius - The psychic is capable of briefly endowing its physical body with superhuman strength, speed, and resilience. This power lasts for a scene after which the psychic is drained of energy and must rest in order to replenish its mind and give its body a chance to recover.
Dominant Powers
- Divination - The ability to peer past the wall of tomorrow or the gates of yesterday in order to gain understanding and information of the past and the future. Reading the future can be a tricky thing, as the future is not a set course or a fixed timeline, but is always fluctuating. Reading the past is an endeavor that is much more likely to be successful, as the past is fixed.
Major Powers
- Psychometry - By handling an object, the psychic is able to get glimpses of who owned it, or handled it, and events which occurred around the item, obtaining historical memories or sensations concerning beings and objects they observe. With objects that can be handled, they gain knowledge including the makers, users, and even those who have in passing used the object, and what has been done with it
- Astral Projection - The psychic is able to project his spirit from his body, traveling around the world at exceptional speed as a spirit being. While in this astral form the psychic cannot be sensed except by fellow psychics or others that can see into or sense the astral realm. While in this spirit body, the psychic perceives non-astral creatures and beings as ghost-like shades. The psychic can use all of its senses while projecting, enabling the psychic to see, hear, smell, taste, etc whatever is going on at a given location
Minor Powers
- Mediumship - The psychic has the power to sense astral spirits, ghosts, or other non-physical entities when they come into the psychic's presence. The medium can speak with these entities, gathering power in order to try and command the spirit or ghost to manifest itself, or simply have a conversation.
