Brennan O'Brannon

Celestial Name: Sarakiel

“I have a score to settle. Or rather, I am going to be settling a score for Brennan O’Brannon.

Brennan is an interesting fellow. He works as a private detective, private security, and occasionally works on stage in local productions of Shakespeare. He has a little bit of fame locally due to his performances, but a larger reputation in his private eye work for being thorough, capable, methodical and intelligent. He’s a self-made man, running his own small firm with a few carefully selected employee’s, without a formal education or even a high school education. Despite this lack of education he is a voracious reader, and is constantly seeking out new things to learn.

About six months ago, he lost his family. Not due to some unfortunate accident, but because of a demon. His wife was possessed by a demon, and that demon killed their children one by one, and forced Brennan to kill her before the demon fled. It broke him. When I found him he was on the edge of suicide, half-dead from booze and sorrow. He was a fighter, but no one can fight forever. No one except Us, the angels. Especially the Vindicators, the Praelia.

I promised him vengeance, I promised that if he allowed me to possess him I would track and kill this demon, for him and avenge all the harms that this demon has done. He agreed, and I put him into an easy, deep slumber. I’ve started the hunt. I’ll find this demon, and ensure that it can no longer hurt people as Brennan has been hurt.

The Past

Sarakiel has been a warrior among warriors since the dawn of time, tasked with the guardianship of humanity and the destruction of evil. He is a faithful follower of the plans and goals of the Shepherds. He keeps faith with the original vision that God espoused after he created humanity. As a Shepherd, his heart goes out to humanity and he does what he can in order to ameliorate the sorrows and sufferings of humanity around him.

Brennan O'Brannon was a successful man who built his own business from the ground up with nothing but his own drive, self-taught skills, and sheer tenacity. This self made man had grown up in a poor household, with a mom that drank too much and a dad who was a drug addict. Brennan was abused by his parents, although he is the first to admit that it could have been much much worse, and left home when he was 16. He lived on the streets for a while, and then began reading at the Denver Public Library. Despite his lack of education, Brennan is a brilliant man and as he read he read more and more diverse subjects, acquiring a larger and broader intellectual foundation. He began with history but was soon tackling philosophy, forensic procedure, political theory, market operations. As he educated himself his world outlook began to change, and eventually he took money made form a paper route, driving a cab, and working as a pizza joint managerm money saved over years, and started Hammer Security Services.

As the business fluctuated, Brennan signed up for more and more training courses, hand to hand combat, armed combat, firearms techniques, military tactics and protection techniques. By the time his wife, April, had become possessed Brennan was the equal of the Secret Service and possessed skills comparable to that of any professional Special Forces operator.

The Present

Sarakiel was granted permission to possess Brennan after the death of his family, and seemed to be the only thing that stopped a slow slide into dissolution and the grave for Brennan. Using the resources developed by Hammer Security Services, Sarakiel has begun to extend feelers into identifying and finding the demon responsible for Brennan's suffering. Since Brennan was a Denver native, Sarakiel has opted to begin his hunt in the city itself.

Personality/Recent Events

Sarakiel is a rather humorless individual, but has a great deal of compassion for humanity as a whole and the people in Brennan's life in particular. This compassion shows by little actions rather than grand gestures, money sunk into good causes, or teaching courses at the local YMCA for self-defense, or 'at-risk' youth. He stays active, but his eyes are always open for whispers of the demon that he's hunting.

Brennan on the other hand was an overall 'good' person, with a good sense of humor and a charming smile. Always willing to help carry a burden, to to tell a joke and try to lighten the mood, Brennan wore his personal scars with quiet pride and did his best to try and make the lives of others easier. Despite this mindset, when it came to business Brennan was ruthless, practical and pragmatic, and focused. He, and Hammer Security, developed a reputation locally and nationally for being an A= business with dedicated and focused individuals, one of the best at personal security and private eye work.
